It would be wonderful if life were all sunshine and roses, but that’s not reality. Some people will lead you to believe that we’ve come to this planet to just have fun. While I agree that we should experience fun times as much as possible, sometimes we also face not-so-great experiences.
Even as children, we start to experience painful emotions or situations. From getting pushed around on the playground to experiencing the loss of a pet to experiencing your first breakup as a teen – the reality is that life is a rollercoaster ride. Sometimes you’re up and sometimes you’re down, and that’s alright.
How To Make The Most Of Life
At just about every developmental stage in life, people wonder how they should live their life. They wonder what their life path should be.
Of course, figuring out your life path can sometimes be challenging. How many times have you sat and wondered what you were put here on this earth to do? You’re certainly not alone. I’ve had my share of nights lying in my bed, confused and frustrated because I could not figure out my life path.
Making the most of your life is likely to involve you doing some inner searching to discover how you want your life to go. It will involve you pondering how you want to show up for yourself and others. And, it involves you taking some quiet time away from the hustle and bustle of life to discover who you are and what you desire.
We Are Spirits Living In A Physical World
It’s no secret that we are made up of mind, body, and spirit. We tend to spend a lot of time taking care of the mind and body, but the spirit sometimes gets neglected. Remember that your spirit needs to be nurtured and cherished too.
Your physical body will deteriorate and likely grow weaker over time. However, if you focus on nurturing and caring for your spirit in addition to your physical body, you are much more apt to experience peace and happiness along your journey. As a result, you’re more apt to feel meaningful and fulfilled.
What Do You Want To Experience In Life?
When is the last time you asked yourself:
- “How is my life going?”
- “How can I improve it?”
You see, life may not be all sunshine and roses, but you can experience many more good days than bad if you’re willing to consciously navigate it.
Asking yourself questions is a good habit to get into.
What kind of life do you truly want to live? What are you striving for? What makes you happy?
- Are you passionate about cooking? Take some cooking lessons or just cook more for fun.
- Are you passionate about animals? Volunteer at an animal shelter or adopt a pet of your own.
- Do you want to work less and enjoy family time more? Make it happen.
- If helping others makes your heart sing, become a counselor.
By doing things that make you feel happy, you are nurturing your soul. And, most likely this will have a positive effect on others as well. Sure, physical things can bring you temporary happiness, but living out your purposes can help you experience lasting joy.
If you’re not sure, take some time to meditate and seek to hear what your spirit is saying to you. Sit in a quiet room and try to tune in to your spirit's desires. Be true to yourself and honor your passion and feelings. Continually expand your spiritual consciousness. Focus on your goals and what makes you feel passion. Doing this can open your mind to new possibilities and help you stay on your life path.
Your Path Is Uniquely Set For You
You are your own unique person. You must find your own path in your own way. Try making a list of things you want to accomplish in life and things that make you feel blissful, including physical and spiritual experiences. Once you have your list, come up with ways to accomplish these goals. Ask the universe or your higher power to help guide and give you insight.
Be True To Yourself
Walking your unique life's path and enjoying more peace and joy is possible with dedication, insight, and motivation. Do your best to be content where you are on the way to where you are going. Life can become challenging at times, but it can also be amazing.
Today, as you go about your day, notice the sunshine and roses (or other flowers). Offer gratitude for the good in your life. If you happen to be struggling, reach out to someone you trust and let them know. You certainly don’t have to navigate life alone.
